Apple has just launched the much-anticipated refresh of its portable notebook, the MacBook Air. The device comes in a similar form factor to what we have seen in the previous generation of the MacBook Air. The company stated that it has revamped all the aspects of the Notebook. To start with the pricing of the device, the company has priced the MacBook Air starting from $1,199, and interested users will be able to preorder the MacBook Air starting today. The device will go on sale starting from November 7.
MacBook Air Specifications
The highlight of the new MacBook Air is the 8th generation dual-core Intel i5 that is clocked at 1.6GHz. The processor can turbo up to 3.5GHz while packing up to 16GB RAM, and up to 1.5TB SSD storage. The base model will come with 128GB internal storage. The company has improved the new MacBook Air to make it more portable by making it 17 percent less in volume as compared to the previous model. The device is 15.6mm in thickness and weighs about 2.75 pounds.
Retina Display and improved security
The notebook will come with 13.3-inch Retina Display with four times the amount of pixels when compared to the older version with a total of 4-million pixels. The device will also come with Touch ID that is embedded in the keyboard. To maintain the security of the device, the device will come with the T2 security chip which also controls the SSD of the device.
Apple has added the latest generation of its Butterfly keyboard on the MacBook Air along with a larger touchpad with force touch feature. The touchpad comes with improved pressure sensitive and haptic feedback. In addition to this, the company has also improved the audio performance of the device along with Hey Siri support. Talking about the battery, Apple claims that the device will come with a similar 12-hour battery life.
Thunderbolt 3 and the power
The new MacBook Air will come with two Thunderbolt 3 ports on the device so that users can connect eGPUs, external displays and other external devices including storage. Last but not the least, all the MacBook Airs will be made from 100 percent recycled aluminum reducing the carbon footprint of the device by 50 percent.
