Apple pulls watchOS 5.1 update after some users report bricked Watches

Apple seems to have temporarily pulled back the latest watchOS 5.1 update that it released last night. The reason to pull the update was that some users reported that their Apple Watches were bricked while attempting to upgrade to watchOS 5.1.

As mentioned in a report by The Verge, the only way to fix a bricked Apple Watch is to go to Apple store for support. The report also revealed that this issue is not spread to all the Apple Watches in the market and instead, it only affects the owners of the latest Apple Watch Series 4. The report also issued a warning to users who managed to download the file before Apple pulled it off asking them not to upgrade their device.

As noted previously, watchOS 5.1 is set to bring more than 70 new emojis along in the new update. In addition to the new emojis, watchOS 5.1 will also bring group FaceTime audio support to the Apple Watches along with a “new fullscreen color watch face.”

This comes right after the company announced a new 2018 version of its MacBook Air, Mac Mini, and much-anticipated iPad Pro 2018 version. Apple has not revealed the reason for this issue or when the users can expect an update.
