At its October event in New York, Apple launched the 2018 iPad Pro, refreshed MacBook Air and Mac mini. The new iPad Pro comes in two screen sizes of 11-inch and 12.9-inch, and features a nearly edge-to-edge display design and drops the Touch ID fingerprint sensor in favor of Face ID facial recognition system.
With the new iPad Pro, Apple is bringing parity between its tablet and smartphone lineup, both in terms of design and user experience. Since the iPad Pro drops the Touch ID, Apple is adding new gesture interface that we first saw on the iPhone X last year. Since Apple envisions the iPad Pro as a computer and not just a tablet, it is also introducing revised versions of its stylus called Apple Pencil, and a keyboard called Smart Folio keyboard.
The second-generation Apple Pencil magnetically attaches to the iPad Pro similar to how the Surface Pen attaches to a Surface Pro or Surface Book devices. Once attached, it automatically pairs with the iPad Pro, and starts wirelessly charging. With the new design, Apple is killing the idea of losing the Apple Pencil or charging it by connecting to the lightning port on the previous model.
Apple is also adding gestures to the Apple Pencil this year where users can select the right tool with a double tap on the Apple Pencil within apps like Notes. The gesture support is also coming to more powerful applications from Adobe, Autodesk and Procreate. The new Apple Pencil adds more convenience to the user experience, which was not the case with previous generation model. The new Apple Pencil is priced at Rs 10,900.
A computer is almost incomplete without a keyboard and at the event last evening, Apple launched the new Smart Folio Keyboard. Apart from allowing users to type, the new Smart Folio Keyboard also acts as protective case for the front and back of the iPad Pro. It has a thin and light design and packs a full-size keyboard without need to be charged.

It also now has two easily adjustable position for working on the lap or desk and the magnetic connector is on the back as opposed to being below where the iPad Pro would dock to the keyboard. The Smart Folio Keyboard comes in space grey color and is priced at Rs 15,900 for the 11-inch model and Rs 17,900 for the 12.9-inch model.
