Microsoft has just announced the next major update for Windows at Internationale Funkausstellung (IFA) 2018 in Berlin. The next major version of the in-house operating system by Microsoft will be known as the Windows 10 October 2018 Update. The company revealed that it worked with its hardware partners including Lenovo, Dell, and Acer to announce new Windows 10-powered devices that bring innovation to the table in terms of design and features. Microsoft added that it will continue to work and improve on the experiences and features that it offers by bringing more functionality and enhancements to “nearly 700 million devices” that are running Windows 10.
The company showcased a number of new Windows devices at the keynote presentation by Microsoft to highlight the work that its partners are doing in terms of the hardware. Erin Chapple, the Corporate Vice President for Microsoft highlighted the “new moderns PCs” that were announced this week at IFA 2018. One of the aspects that Microsoft focused was on staying connected to the internet with the help of connected PC experiences.

The seeds for this were sown at the Snapdragon Tech Summit 2017 at the end of last year when Qualcomm announced “Always Connected PCs” that were powered by Snapdragon 835.
Lenovo Yoga C630 WOS

Almost a year after the initial Snapdragon-powered devices that were running Windows 10 and months after the announcement of Snapdragon 850, Lenovo announced its first Snapdragon 850-powered Always Connected PC, the Lenovo Yoga C630 WOS (Windows on Snapdragon). The device comes with LTE connectivity and according to the claims, the device provides “up to 25 hours” of battery backup.
Lenovo Yoga Book C930
Lenovo also announced a new type of device, the Yoga Book C930. The difference between this new notebook and the usual notebooks is that this does not come with a keyboard. Instead, Lenovo has added an E Ink display in place of the keyboard so that it can function as a keyboard, notepad, and an eReader. The Windows 10-powered device comes with Cortana, Windows Ink, and Windows Hello along with optional 4G connectivity.
Dell Inspiron 13 7000 2-in-1

Dell also announced a number of new devices at IFA 2018 but one of the highlights of the event was its’ Inspiron 13 7000 2-in-1. The device comes with a “3-sided narrow border” while offering a touchscreen-enabled ISP panel with support for Active Pen. The device comes with “Modern Standby” allowing users to instantly turn on the device with the help of Windows Hello enabled fingerprint reader and a 4-element lens webcam.
Microsoft Surface Go
The company also showcased its latest device from its in-house Surface lineup, the Microsoft Surface Go at IFA 2018. The device comes with a 2-in-1 form factor allowing its users to quickly get their work done.
Acer Predator Triton 900

Last but not the least, Acer announced a slick looking laptop from its Predator lineup, the Acer Predator Triton 900. This gaming laptop comes with the usual Intel 8th generation Core i7 processors, support for Xbox controller dongle, dual-fans to keep the laptop cool during extended gaming sessions, and an RGB back-lit keyboard along with overclocking capabilities.
However, the most interesting thing about this laptop was the fact that it comes with a rotating screen with the help of a hinge to transform it into a tablet whit the screen facing outward, or a usual laptop with the screen facing inside, towards the keyboard.
