Chinese smartphone maker and telecommunication giant Huawei has just announced the launch of a new variant of its current flagship in the market, the Huawei P20 Pro at IFA 2018. The new variant comes with 8GB RAM and 256GB RAM instead of the previous configuration of 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. The company also announced the launch of two new colors of the Huawei P20 Pro for any potential buyers who were looking for more color variants before buying the P20 Pro. The company did not reveal any details on the pricing, or availability details about the new variant and the colors.
To recap, the device comes with a 6.1-inch AMOLED display with an FHD+ resolution (2240 x 1080 pixels) and a screen aspect ratio of 18.7:9. The device will be powered by a Kirin 970 Octa-core SoC with a dedicated neural processing unit. Talking about the camera hardware on this device, Huawei has not made any changes to the camera and it will come with a Leica-branded triple camera setup on the back of the device.

The triple camera setup comes with a 40-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture, an 8-megapixel camera sensor with f/2.4 aperture that works as a telephoto lens with support for 3x optical zoom.

The third camera sensor comes with a 20-megapixel monochrome sensor with a f/1.6 aperture for improved images in low lighting conditions.
Talking about other specifications of the device, Huawei had added a 24-megapixel camera sensor on the front for selfies along with a f/2.0 aperture. It also comes with a 4,000mAh battery and packs USB Type-C port, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC, and VoLTE as connectivity options. The device is expected to run Android 8.1 Oreo-based EMUI 8.1 out of the box.
This came right before the company announced its next generation in-house SoC based on the 7nm manufacturing process, the HiSilicon Kirin 980. Huawei also announced the October 16 launch event for its upcoming flagship, the Huawei Mate 20.
