OnePlus has just announced the rollout of Open Beta version 4 for OnePlus 6 devices in the market. This new update for the Open Beta program comes weeks after the company announced the launch of Android 9 Pie-based OxygenOS 9.0 update for the devices in the market. OnePlus took to its official forums to announced the new Open Beta build in a dedicated post. The company staff member Manu J who is responsible for the OnePlus OxygenOS Beta program and developer relations went into detail to talk about the changes that come with the new update.
For the people who don’t know, Open Beta program is a beta program by OnePlus where the company can test new features and changes before rolling them out to a wider audience. The Open Beta program is separate from the stable version of OxygenOS and it is limited to a limited number of users who want to test the latest from the company in terms of the software. According to the post, the new version comes with fixes for touch latency and optimizations to the standby power consumption in the System section. OnePlus also made optimizations to the User Interface for the speed dial and calls.

The company also fixed an issue where users were able to accidentally answer the second call that was coming in the background with a gesture while already on a call. Other changes include the new OnePlus Community 2.2.0 app in the update.
This new version added community notice as a new feature in the app along with a news feed so that community users could follow each other with the help of the app. It also made changes to the interface so that users could see the ‘stickied comments’ in the app. The app also came with new options on sharing a thread along with bug fixes and “general” UI tweaks.
One thing to note here is that the Open Beta version is different than the stable version and if users don’t know how to flash a ROM should wait for the stable update.
