Xiaomi’s smart mini treadmill – WalkingPad Mini – will reportedly go on sale for western markets via Kickstarter later this month or in October with a price tag of $499 (approximately Rs 35,000). The website of compact WalkingPad has now listed it as ‘coming soon’ for Kickstarter.
Xiaomi had introduced the WalkingPad Mini Treadmill in China through its Youpin crowdfunding platform in May at a price tag of RMB 1,699 (approximately Rs 17,000), reports GizmoChina. The Xiaomi WalkingPad Mini Smart Treadmill has a compact design perfectly suitable for small apartments.
Unlike the conventional treadmill, the WalkingPad Mini doesn’t get a big physical activity controller with handle bars. It is by far the most compact treadmill in the market, which can be easily folded, and stored under a bed. It has a dimension of 1200x415mm.
The foldable Xiaomi WalkingPad is made of high-density elastic material, and the body of treadmill is made of aluminum alloy, which flaunts a sleek metallic finish. It weighs around 28kg, and supports a maximum load of 110kg, which is up from 90Kg from the earlier model sold on Youpin in China.
The entire device can be controlled using a smartphone app or a small remote control. It doesn’t include any buttons, but rather a LED display that shows exercise data. The WalkingPad treadmill has a speed range from 0.5-6 km/h. The WalkingPad offers two user modes – manual and automatic. The manual mode lets you adjust speed using the handheld remote control, while the automatic mode adjusts acceleration as you move towards the front of the track and slows down when it detects the user is moving towards the end of the track.
