Samsung Galaxy A8 Star now available offline at Rs 34,990

Samsung recently launched its Galaxy A8 Star in India. Priced at Rs 34,990, the smartphone was unveiled as an Amazon India-exclusive. However, if online shopping isn’t your thing, you can now buy the Galaxy A8 Star offline as well.

The information comes courtesy of a tweet, posted by Mumbai-based smartphone retailer Mahesh Telecom.

It’s worth mentioning that there hasn’t been any change in the smartphone’s price, which is the same as its cost on Amazon India – Rs 34,990. That said, it’s unclear if any purchase benefits (e.g. EMI options) will be available to those who choose to buy the smartphone from brick-and-mortar stores.

Samsung Galaxy A8 Star is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC, paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The dual-SIM smartphone has a hybrid slot that can accept microSD cards of up to 512GB. It runs Android Oreo out-of-the-box, with Samsung’s Experience UX overlay baked on top. Samsung Galaxy A8 Star isn’t exactly a compact smartphone. It features a 6.3-inch FullHD+ Super AMOLED panel with a resolution 1080×2220 pixels and an 18.5:9 aspect ratio.

For imaging, the Galaxy A8 Star features a dual-camera system at the back. It’s comprised of a 24-megapixel sensor and a 16-megapixel sensor, each with an f/1.7 aperture. Up front, you get a 24-megapixel (f/2.0) for selfies and video calls.

Samsung Galaxy A8 Star has all the connectivity options you’d expect in a 2018 smartphone, ranging from Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac to USB Type-C. There’s also a 3.5mm audio port and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. A 3,700mAh battery backs up the entire package.
