Realme today launched its first mid-range smartphone in India. It is company’s most expensive smartphone till date which for the top-end 8GB RAM is priced at Rs 17,990. Realme has brought quite a few changes in the Realme 2 Pro from the last month launched Realme 2. Here’s the comparison on the two Realme smartphones on paper.
Realme 2 Pro vs Realme 2: Pricing and Availability
The latest Realme Pro 2 is priced at Rs 13,990 for the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage model. The other two variants with 6GB RAM + 64GB storage, 8GB RAM + 128GB storage are priced at Rs 15,990 and Rs 17,990 respectively. It will go on sale exclusively on Flipkart from October 11 at 12:00AM.
On the other hand, the last month launched Realme 2 price starts at Rs 8,990 for the 3GB RAM and 32GB storage variant. The phone also comes in 4GB RAM and 64GB storage as well, which is priced at Rs 10,990. The handset is available through Flipkart via flash sales.
Realme 2 Pro vs Realme 2: Screen and Design
In terms of design, Realme 2 Pro and Realme 2 are slightly different. The front display notch on Pro is borrowed from Oppo’s ‘waterdrop’ style notch, and Realme has branded it as ‘dewdrop’ display. For Realme 2 Pro, the company has got three new color options – Black Sea, Blue Ocean, and Ice Lake. The smartphone boasts of a 6.3-inch full-HD+ screen with 1,080×2,340 pixels and 90.8 percent screen-to-body ratio.
Upfront, the Realme 2 sports a 6.2-inch HD+ in-cell IPS panel with a 19:9 aspect ratio and 720×1,520 pixels. The screen-to-body ratio on the phone is 88.8 percent with maximum brightness of 360 nits.
Realme 2 Pro vs Realme 2: Processor and RAM
The new Realme 2 Pro is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 660 octa-core processor instead of Snapdragon 450 SoC seen on Realme 2. The smartphone comes in three RAM and storage variants.
The base 4GB RAM with 64GB storage, a mid-priced 6GB RAM model also comes with 64GB storage while there is one more top-end 8GB RAM model with 128GB storage. All models support additional storage expansion via microSD card slot (up to 256GB).
Under the hood, the Realme 2 packs an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 chipset coupled with Adreno 506 GPU. It comes in two RAM variants – 3GB and 4GB. The storage option starts from 32GB and goes up to 64GB. Its storage is also expandable via microSD card (up to 256GB).
Realme 2 Pro vs Realme 2: Camera
In the photography department, the Realme 2 Pro also sports a dual camera setup. It includes a 16-megapixel + 2-megapixel secondary depth sensor with f/1.7 aperture, 1/2.8-inch Sony IMX398 sensor, 1.12-micron pixel size, and 6P lens. It supports 4K video recording at 30fps. There are AI features in the camera app as well as support for AR stickers. At the front, there is a 16-megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture.
Coming to the Realme 2, it’s dual rear camera setup includes a 13-megapixel primary sensor along with f/2.2 aperture and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor along with f/2.4 aperture. Upfront, there is a fixed focus 8-megapixel camera with 85-degree wide-angle lens and f/2.2 aperture.
Realme 2 Pro vs Realme 2: Battery and OS
The Realme 2 Pro packs a 3500mAh battery which is slightly less than Realme 2. The Realme 2 packs a big 4230mAh battery just like the newly launched entry-level Realme C1.
The Realme 2 Pro runs ColorOS OS 5.2 based on Android 8.1 Oreo, whereas the Realme 2 runs ColorOS 5.1 on top of Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box.
