The IFA 2018 trade show was pretty exciting as it saw a number of smartphone launches, right from the likes of LG to Motorola and Sony among others. But Huawei definitely stole the show with its announcements. Honor announced the Magic 2 smartphone, Huawei announced that the Mate 20 smartphone will be launched on October 16 in London, and it will run on Kirin 980 SoC, the world’s first 7nm chipset. Huawei also announced the EMUI 9 interface based on Android 9 Pie for Huawei and Honor devices.
EMUI 9 will focus on speed and simplicity, and will also bring a number of improvements related to performance, bug fixes, and visual changes too. The company also mentioned that it will bring Google’s Digital Wellbeing feature, faster gaming and a more streamlined UI. According to screenshots posted by AndroidCentral, the new UI comes with lighter colors, consistency in EMUI’s look and feel, visual changes for incoming calls and alarms to take advantage of large screen devices and more.
