Earlier this week, Idea Cellular and Vodafone, now Vodafone Idea, introduced 6 ‘Active Recharges’ prepaid plans starting at Rs 25, offering up to 2GB data and 84 days validity. Now, Bharti Airtel is ready to give tough fight to Vodafone Idea with six new “Smart Recharge” prepaid plans. Starting at Rs 25 and going all the way up to Rs 245, these plans offer data, talk time and rate cutter benefits to the users. Sadly, these plans are only available in Chennai circle.
The basic plan is priced at Rs 25 and comes with 28 days validity. The plan also offers 10MB 3G / 4G data, and a talk time of 18.69. The next plan is priced at Rs 35 which offers talk time of Rs 26.6, validity of 28 days, and 100MB data. The plans also offer discounted voice calls at 1 paise per second or 60 paise per minute, but Airtel hasn’t clarified much on that part.
Next, you have two plans priced at Rs 65 and Rs 95, both offering full talk time. However, the data allowance and tariff plan is what changes. The Rs 65 plan offers 200MB data, and voice calls are charged at 65 paise per minute, whereas the Rs 95 plan offers 500MB data and voice calls at 30 paise per minute.
There are two more plans priced at Rs 145 and Rs 245, both offering full talk time benefits. The Rs 145 plan comes with 1GB data and 42 days validity, whereas the Rs 245 plan comes bundled with 2GB data and 84 days validity.
The Vodafone Idea plans, on the other hand, more or less, offer similar benefits, but the plans are available only in UP West, Punjab and Tamil Nadu circles. Below is a look at how these plans compete from Vodafone Idea compete with Airtel’s latest offering.
