A couple of months back, Xiaomi introduced three smartphones in China in the Redmi 6-series. These devices include the Redmi 6A, the Redmi 6 and the Redmi 6 Pro. Now, the company is all set to bring these smartphones in India next week, and it has already started teasing the launch. The launch event is set to take place on September 5 in New Delhi. While the smartphones are offered in multiple variants in China, details about India variants have surfaced.
According to a report on MySmartPrice, the Redmi 6A, which is the budget variant with a notch, will be offered in 4 color options – Black, Blue, Rose Gold and Gold. In terms of storage variants – you could choose between 2GB RAM with 16GB storage or 2GB RAM with 32GB storage.
The Redmi 6, will also be offered in the same color variants as the Redmi 6A. The storage variants for the same will be 3GB RAM with 32GB storage, and 3GB RAM with 64GB storage. The Redmi 6 Pro, on the other hand, will be offered in Red, Blue, Black and Gold color options, and two variants – 3GB RAM with 32GB storage, and 4GB RAM with 64GB storage.

Xiaomi Redmi 6A, Redmi 6, Redmi 6 Pro price in India
The Redmi 6A will most likely replace the Redmi 5A, and is expected to cost Rs 5,999. The higher storage variant could be priced at Rs 6,999. The Redmi 6 could be priced at Rs 8,499 for the base variant, and Rs 9,999 for the higher variant. Lastly, the Redmi 6 Pro price could start at Rs 11,999 and go all the way up to Rs 13,999.

Both smartphones share a lot of common specifications and features, such as a 5.45-inch HD+ 18:9 display. While the Redmi 6 is powered by a MediaTek Helio P22 octa-core SoC chipset, the Redmi 6A is powered by a MediaTek Helio A22 quad-core SoC.
Another difference is on the camera front. The Redmi 6 features a dual-camera setup (12-megapixel+5-megapixel) at the back, while the Redmi 6A features a single 13-megapixel sensor. For security, the Redmi 6 comes with a physical fingerprint sensor, but the Redmi 6A comes with face unlock feature instead. The rest of the common features include a 5-megapixel selfie camera, 3,000mAh battery, and connectivity options like dual-SIM card slots, Bluetooth, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi and GPS.

As the name suggests, the Redmi 6 Pro is the premium device among the three. It features a 5.84-inch full HD+ display with a notch, and 19:9 aspect ratio. The notch houses the front camera, earpiece and proximity sensors. Under the hood is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core SoC clocked at 2GHz.
The smartphone comes with a dual-camera setup at the back comprising of a 12-megapixel primary sensor with f/2.2 aperture, and a 5-megapixel secondary depth sensor. Up front is a 5-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calling. Making sure everything ticks is a 4,000mAh battery. On the software front, it runs Android 8.1 Oreo with MIUI 10 skin on top.
