Asus to set up free service camp for consumers in flood-hit Kerala

The recent floods in Kerala have ravaged the south Indian state, causing mass destruction of life and property. While the natural calamity is far from over, efforts are on to slowly bring things back to normal. Even technology companies are realizing that in times like these, any kind of help can make a difference, no matter how small it may be.

To that end, Asus has set up a free service camp for all its consumers in Kerala. The ten-day camp is being organized from August 30, 2018 to September 10, 2018. It will be held at specific Asus service centres (the list can be found at: https://ift.tt/2PRuDH2) in the state.

Commenting about the initiative, Leon Yu, Regional Head for India & South Asia, Asus, said, “We understand that such calamities are an Act of God and we stand by the people of Kerala in these times. Kindly accept our empathy and support in the form of a SERVICE CAMP for all the Asus consumers.” All Asus consumers can avail a 100-percent discount on the labor charges. Further, a 50-percent discount would be given on the water damaged parts in Kerala during the free service camp period, for in-warranty products.

A lot of tech companies have extended support to the people of Kerala in these tough times. Google recently announced it will contribute $1 million (approximately Rs 7 crore) towards relief and restoration work in Kerala. “Google.org and Googlers will contribute $1 million to the relief work in Kerala,” said Rajan Anandan, Vice President, Southeast Asia and India, while speaking at the recent Google for India event. Google’s Crisis Response team has launched several measures to help victims of Kerala floods.
