Battlefield V release has been delayed by a month

For all those gamers that have been waiting for the latest game in the Battlefield series, they will have to wait a bit longer. Electronic Arts has just announced in a blog post that the Battlefield V will be delayed to at least November 20 this year. Previously the game was slated for launch on October 19, and the company explains that the delay is because the developers want to improve the core gameplay experience.

Oskar Gabrielson, General Manager at DICE, the developer of the game talked about the feedback from the closed-Alpha sessions at E3 and Gamescom and wrote, “You have told us that you are seeing an increased focus on squad play come through, you are also feeling the difference in our revamped player movement and we are getting a lot of positive feedback for our improved weapons handling.”

“You’ve also spurred us to make some meaningful improvements to the core gameplay experience, including adjusting the gameplay tempo, improving soldier visibility and reducing player friction. You’ll see a lot of these reflected in our Open Beta.” he added.

The game is set to go for an open beta release on September 6, which has not changed. But the delay in the month of the release means that Battlefield V will be releasing well after Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, its main competitor which is going to launch on October 12. Besides this, Red Dead Redemption 2 will also be launching around the same time and its launch date is close to the launch of other big titles like Fallout 76 and Hitman 2.
