Best smartphones under Rs 10,000 to buy in November 2018

This festive season, consumers have more choice than ever when it comes to picking their next smartphone. A couple of launches in the past few months and the ongoing sale on platforms like Amazon India and Flipkart allow for an opportunity to revisit the best smartphones in the market under Rs 10,000. From the newly launched Asus Zenfone Max M1, Realme C1 to discounted Honor 9N, here are the top options.

Realme C1

Realme C1 is the newest device from the company that was created as a spin-off from Chinese smartphone maker Oppo. The Realme C1 was launched alongside Realme 2 Pro and it is now the cheapest device from the company. The smartphone is priced at Rs 6,999, and it comes in only one storage variant.

The Realme C1 features a 6.2-inch HD+ display with 19:9 aspect ratio and a notch at the top. The smartphone comes with 2GB RAM, 16GB storage, Snapdragon 450 chipset, dual 13-megapixel + 2-megapixel rear cameras, and a 5-megapixel selfie camera. It runs ColorOS 5.1 based on Android 8.1 Oreo, and is backed by a 4,230mAh battery.

Xiaomi Redmi 6A

Xiaomi Redmi 6A was launched few months back as the successor to the Redmi 5A. The Redmi 6A comes in two storage variants: 2GB RAM variant with 16GB storage priced at Rs 5,999 and 2GB RAM variant with 32GB storage for Rs 6,999.

The smartphone features a 5.45-inch HD+ display, quad-core MediaTek CPU, 13-megapixel main camera, and a 5-megapixel selfie camera. It runs MIUI 9 based on Android Oreo, and packs a 3,000mAh battery. It is available in grey, blue, gold and rose gold colors.

Nokia 3.1

Nokia 3.1 is among the first devices from HMD Global to feature the new taller display design with thin bezels surrounding it. It was launched early this year with prices starting at Rs 10,499, but can be purchased for a lower price from online retailers.

The Nokia 3.1 is a compact smartphone with 5.2-inch display, MediaTek MT6750 chipset, 2GB or 3GB of RAM and 16GB or 32GB storage. It features a 13-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel selfie shooter. It lacks a fingerprint sensor and is backed by a 2,990mAh battery. The Nokia 3.1 is part of Google’s Android One program and runs Android 8.1 Oreo.

Asus Zenfone Max M1

After the success of Zenfone Max Pro M1, Asus launched the Zenfone Max M1 in India last month. The smartphone is the competitor to Realme C1 and Redmi 6A and offers better memory option than other two devices. It is priced at Rs 7,499, and will be available exclusively from Flipkart.

The Zenfone Max M1 features a design similar to that of Zenfone Max Pro M1 but with smaller 5.45-inch HD+ display. It comes with 3GB RAM, 32GB storage and is powered by Snapdragon 430 CPU. There is a 13-megapixel main camera and an 8-megapixel selfie camera. It runs Android 8.1 Oreo, and is backed by a large 4,000mAh battery.

Honor 9N

Honor 9N was launched few months back as the competitor to Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 5 Pro but consequent price drops have made the device even more affordable. During Flipkart’s Big Diwali Sale, the smartphone is available for Rs 9,999, a discount of Rs 4,000 from its launch price.

The Honor 9N features a 5.84-inch Full HD+ display, Kirin 659 SoC, 3GB RAM and 32GB storage. It features dual 13-megapixel and 2-megapixel rear camera system and a 16-megapixel selfie camera. It runs Android 8.0 Oreo and is backed by a 3,000mAh battery. The smartphone is available in midnight black and sapphire blue color.

Xiaomi Redmi 6

Xiaomi is the leader in India’s smartphone market and its product portfolio has all the reasons for its dominance. The company offers more devices in the sub-Rs 10,000 price segment than any other brand. One such device is the Redmi 6, which was launched alongside the Redmi 6. The Redmi 6 starts at Rs 7,999 for the variant with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage while the 64GB storage variant is priced at Rs 9,499.

The Redmi 6 does not differ much from Redmi 6A and features the same 5.45-inch display with HD+ display. It is powered by MediaTek Helio P22 chipset, and offers 12-megapixel + 5-megapixel dual rear camera setup and a 5-megapixel selfie camera. It is backed by a 3,000mAh battery, and runs MIUI 9 based on Android Oreo.

Infinix Note 5

Infinix Note 5 is getting discounted by Rs 2,000 during the Big Diwali Sale on Flipkart. The smartphone now starts at Rs 8,999 for the base variant with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage.

Infinix Note 5 is an Android One smartphone running Android Oreo with cleaner user experience and no bloatware. It has a 5.99-inch Full HD+ display, 12-megapixel rear camera and a 16-megapixel front camera. It uses a MediaTek Helio P23 SoC, and is backed by a 4,500mAh battery.

Xiaomi Redmi Y2

Xiaomi Redmi Y2 is the second selfie-centric smartphone from the Chinese smartphone maker, and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset. It features a 5.99-inch HD+ display, 3GB RAM, 32GB storage and is powered by Snapdragon 625 SoC. Like the Redmi 6, the Redmi Y2 also uses a combination of 12-megapixel and 5-megapxiel cameras on the back.

At the front, there is a 16-megapixel selfie shooter and it is backed by a 3,080mAh battery. The smartphone runs MIUI 9 and is priced at Rs 9,999 for the base model.

10.or D2

10.or D2 was launched as the competitor from Amazon India for the Redmi 6A, Realme C1 and other smartphones in the Rs 6,000 price segment. It comes in two storage variants with the 2GB RAM, 16GB storage variant priced at Rs 4,999 and 3GB RAM, 32GB storage variant priced at Rs 5,999.

It features a 5.45-inch HD+ display and uses Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 chipset. It sports a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera. It packs a 3,200mAh battery, and runs Android Oreo. The smartphone is available exclusively from Amazon India.

Samsung Galaxy J4+

The Galaxy J4+ features Samsung’s Infinity Display design, and was released last month. The smartphone is priced at Rs 9,990 for the 2GB RAM variant and is available in black, gold, pink and blue colors.

It sports a 6-inch display with HD+ resolution and uses Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 SoC coupled with 2GB RAM and 32GB storage. It features a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera. The smartphone runs Android Oreo and is backed by a 3,300mAh battery.
